Agent prepared, human approved.

Maxima came to us before announcing a $41M funding round. Their existing site was, in their own words, stealthy: a strong product with no narrative built for the audience it needed next. They had built something that would change how enterprise accounting teams operate—an AI-native platform capable of automating the full financial close, from journal entries and reconciliations to flux analysis and audit-ready reporting. What they needed was a brand and narrative that could carry that capability to the enterprise: serious, established, and legible in seconds.

We had a narrow window to translate a complex technical product story into something an enterprise buyer could understand at a glance, before their funding news put eyes on the brand.

The Challenge

While Maxima had an existing brand, it wasn't built for the audience that mattered next. Enterprise buyers don't extend trust to companies they can't immediately place, and an AI accounting platform selling into finance teams at scale has to read as serious, established, and audit-ready from the first impression.

There was a second, deeper tension. Finance teams are the last group that will hand judgment to a machine. The close is where accuracy is accountable, and "automation" alone reads as risk, not relief. Selling autonomy to an auditor is a losing pitch. The winning one is control. Maxima's real advantage wasn't that agents do the work; it was that agents prepare and humans approve—speed without surrendering the sign-off. We knew we would need to take a brand previously built around technical capability and strategically reframe its identity and story around that enterprise benefit.

The Work

We took ownership of Maxima's full identity and narrative system, and built every decision around a single strategic core: agent prepared, human approved.

We led a significant shift in the information hierarchy and brand story to move an enterprise buyer from skepticism to confidence—foregrounding the human control that makes the automation safe to adopt, rather than the automation that makes it feel risky. The identity followed the same logic. We built a brand mark, color palette, and typography system that read as serious and established without falling into the conventions of legacy enterprise software—modern enough to signal an AI-native product, disciplined enough to sit inside a finance stack.

We executed the narrative, design, and production of the brand video, and shaped the product illustration story throughout the site so that a buyer could see the workflow, not just read about it. The full website was the final output, designed and developed to carry this new identity and narrative across every surface a buyer might encounter.

The result is a company whose brand, narrative, and website now read the way the product works: agents do the preparation, people keep the judgment—an AI accounting platform serious and established enough for the enterprise to trust before the funding news ever arrived.
